Story: "Hello everyone, I hope for you that you are ready, because I'm going to tell you the story of my life, or rather, how it's over, and if you're listening to these tapes it's because you're one of the reasons. he will call in. But do not worry, if you have received this beautiful gift package, sooner or later your name will jump out ... I promise you. " When Clay Jensen listens to the first of the tapes someone has left for him at the front door, he can not believe his ears. The voice he's talking to him belongs to Hannah, the girl he's been in love with since the first high school, the same one who committed suicide just a couple of weeks ago. Clay is upset, on the one hand he would not want to have anything to do with those tapes. Hannah is dead, and her secrets should be buried with her. But on the other, the desire to find out what role he had in the story is too strong. Throughout the night, then, guided by the girl's voice, Clay retraces the episodes that have marked his life and determined, in a dramatic avalanche effect, the choice to deprive them. Thirteen reasons, thirteen stories involving Clay and some of his classmates and who, once heard, will forever upset their lives. With more than two and a half million copies sold only in the United States, Thirteen, Jay Asher's debut novel, is one of the most widely read books by American boys, and now also a television series produced by Netflix. Special edition for the ten years of "Thirteen" enriched with extra unpublished contents.
Review: I liked the book like this and so. The story is very fast and, I must say, even realistic. At the beginning, when I was reading the first sides of the tapes, I was thinking, "What's it all about?" Hannah must have been really weak, but then I realized that there are not many other reasons why a boy could make such a decision . Hannah is a girl who feels lonely, who does not see support and who does not find reasons to continue, her action is not so rash. I am sorry that you have not fought and, indeed, in the last boxes you can see how the girl completely soft, so as to go against her own principles, which reaffirms and for which she fights for her whole life. The book is not original, but innovative because few authors have the courage to treat a similar theme and I admire Asher for this, but, by evaluating the story itself, the story involved me. The vicenza, in fact, dealt only with the life of Hannah and the thoughts of Clay and I do not know how the reader is able to interact with the characters. Another thing that I did not appreciate was Clay's continuous interventions. While I was trying to follow Hannah's speech, I find myself also reading interventions on Clay's thoughts and memories, which are sometimes exhaustive and pleasurable, but others are not. The last thing I did not like was the final, or rather, the finals. The first I found it too trivial, practically nothing happens; the second I found a great tease. The double ending does not create confusion, but it does not make sense.
